Initially, CWCA was invited to an event that exposed CFPA to the carving club and liked what they saw. From that experience CWCA was invited to use the meeting space for the CWCA monthly meetings and has extended to an approximate 20 year association. Over that time, CWCA has worked with making walking sticks and donating them for CFPA’s benefit. They also have used the sticks to promote safe hiking and as prizes in the Walk & Run events that CFPA sponsor.
NECM and CWCA formed a professional collaboration with the art and appreciation of carving as their bond. Both groups promote the Art of Carving and who could ask for a better place than the museum to be in the presence of magnificent carved carousel figures to be inspired! A meeting here, a meeting there and an association was formed that led to the first of over 20 years of the annual CWCA Show & Competition held at the NECM, as well as other CWCA participation with other NECM events. CWCA also holds seminars and meetings on occasion at NECM.
